If this is the first time the course is being taught, these pages will help you to develop a vision for your course by analyzing your curriculum and developing course competencies, which you will then mold into learning outcomes.

Once you have created course learning outcomes for your course, you are ready to start the process of mapping a course. Course mapping uses the backwards approach in which you begin with the end, or with identifying the desired learning outcome first. Then, plan instructional materials and activities that will help students develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviors that demonstrate acquisition of the desired learning outcomes. Lastly, identify the tools necessary for assessing student learning outcomes.
